Some Information on Mathematica, Maple and MathView™

Information about the latest releases of Mathematica, MathView™, and Maple, in terms of interactivity, mathematical capability and usefulness. Use this page to help you decide which program best suits your needs.

SPIMSOW has created a page of information on each of the three programs used during our project. To find out information on the program of your choice, click on the program name.

• Mathematica 3.0

SPIMSOW has created notebooks using these three math programs. Similar notebooks were created in Mathematica, Maple and MathView™ so that comparisons could be made between the presentations in each of the programs. For instance, the Functions with 1 and 2 Variables notebooks were created using Maple, Mathematica, and MathView™. Since MathView™ is less powerful than Maple and Mathematica, we were not able to create the more complicated notebooks of Finding Extrema and Approximations Using Taylor Polynomials in MathView™.
